Accutane became one of the most controversial drugs owing to its known side effects particularly to women who are pregnant or those of child bearing potential. Accutane started simply as a wonder drug for the treatment of severe acne which, although having shown some wonderful, “dramatic” positive effects to those afflicted with severe cases of acne vulgaris, nonetheless, have proven to be hazardous to their users and unborn babies of women who take the pill. It is now more certain that Accutane results in serious birth defects that are both damaging and life threatening. Many babies whose mothers took Accutane during pregnancy had malformed faces, ears, eyes and heads, and/ or suffered from mental retardation. The problem is, when these pregnant women took the said drug, they had no idea they would be exposing themselves and/ or their babies to those serious birth defects, as the drug did not come with warnings on its label, to the damage and prejudice of those who took it. Considering this, people who took the drug and are now suffering from its negative side effects, or whose babies were adversely affected by the substance, know that they are entitled to some considerable compensation and indemnity for having exposed themselves and their babies to those dangers without having been afforded the information that should have stopped them from ever taking Accutane. At this point there are many product liability and personal injury lawyers out there who are very competent and knowledgeable in these fields, and who can protect and enforce your rights as aggrieved parties. Those who are liable for those injuries and damages must compensate you for what they have done, or failed to do.
